Journal – July 19, 2013

I’ve been a Christian for… almost 20 years, and I began questioning things lately. Even if it is painful to lose belief in God and the comfort of the belief in the afterlife, I simply want the truth. So, as many similar testimonies go, one questioning lead to another and so on and so forth. I don’t really know what to call myself now. Agnostic? Half-agnostic? Atheist? Ex-Christian? Post-Christian? I am simply a guy who doesn’t believe he has enough reasons to believe in God anymore. The atheist label is quite dreadful really, even if, for all practical matters, I may already be an atheist. “Do you believe in God?” has become a difficult question for me, for more than one reason. I prefer not to think about it.

What is certain, is that I feel an inescapable pull to absorb all the atheistic information out there — mind you, I’m quite new on this road, it’s a week I think since I started.
